This is such a busy time of year, and when you have young kids, sometimes you lose sight of who you are doing the tasks for in the first place and replace it with merely items to be scratched off a to do list.
One easy way to spend time with my kids is cooking. It’s natural multi-tasking! You are teaching so many things at one time as you get those pesky teacher’s gifts made. With one recipe you can teach following specific directions, fractions (measuring), time management (making sure you don’t burn them!), health (washing your hands) and cooperation with more than one person doing a task.
This year as you make your famous Christmas cookies, bring a kid in the kitchen with you and teach them some things along the way. With older kids, you will be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to talk to them and get good information from them about their lives.
Oh, and if they are gluten free, feel free to send me some!
